Anzac Day – Mortdale RSL Sub-Branch

Mr MARK COURE (OatleyMinister for Multiculturalism, and Minister for Seniors)

——Speaker, every year the St George community gathers together in unity to commemorate the ongoing sacrifices made by Australian men and women at war. In 2020, dawn services were replaced with candlelight tributes on driveways and balconies, but in 2021, our local dawn services were back and better than ever. It was an honour to attend the dawn service hosted by the Mortdale RSL Sub-Branch which saw men, women and children join together in support of the Anzac legacy at Memorial Park. This was an incredibly moving and inspiring ceremony that was well received by all involved. I particularly want to thank President John Delaney, Honorary Treasurer Doris Bailey and Honorary Secretary Royce Lockhart, for continuing to educate the next generation of Australians on the importance of our nation's military history. Organisations like the Mortdale RSL Sub-Branch ensure that our history is enshrined for generations to come and that is something that our community holds in the highest regard. Thank you again to the entire Mortdale RSL-Sub Branch team for all of your hard work.
