Mr MARK COURE (OatleyMinister for Multiculturalism, and Minister for Seniors)

——Speaker, I rise to thank former Superintendent of the St George Police Area Command, Anthony Cooke, for his dignified and professional service to the region. Anthony has been promoted to Assistant Commissioner and Commander of the South West Metropolitan Region which is an incredible achievement and one that is thoroughly deserved. I want to thank Anthony for playing such a critical role in leading our local police services over many years and for ensuring that community safety and personalised care were always at the forefront of their work. This promotion will mean that Anthony is able to play a greater role in the oversight of police functions across the broader south west Sydney area, which will bring confidence to many local families. Anthony is a leader in every sense of the word and I wish him all the best in his new role. I also want to congratulate Detective Superintendent, Jason Box, who will now be leading the St George Command. My office and I look forward to working with Anthony and his new team where possible in the future.
