Georges River Life Care

Mr MARK COURE (OatleyMinister for Multiculturalism, and Minister for Seniors)

——I rise to congratulate Georges River Life Care for all of their hard work throughout the COVID-19 pandemic by looking after the needs of local residents and their families. I particularly want to make a special mention of their annual Sleeping Rough event which was a huge success in 2021. This initiative continues to raise much needed funding for victims of domestic violence through legal support, emergency relief and the provision of food services. As someone who has been involved in this event on multiple occasions, I believe that it is highly valuable as it allows all participants to pause and reflect on the circumstances of those experiencing domestic violence. Everyone deserves a safe place to call home, but unfortunately this is not the case. I want to thank Senior Leader, Scott Morrison, Glenn and Karen Power as well as the entire team for their continued support for those doing it tough. Your work is making a huge difference in the lives of those experiencing domestic violence and that is something that you should all be extremely proud of.
