Lugarno Public School

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)

—Speaker, there is nothing more powerful than young members of our community joining together to commemorate and celebrate the ANZAC legacy. It was my privilege to attend an incredible ANZAC Day ceremony in 2021, hosted by Lugarno Public School amongst students, staff and teachers. As I entered the school hall, it was moving to see the passion and sense of national pride on the faces of all students. It was my privilege to lay a wreath on behalf of both the Lugarno community and the NSW Government. I believe that ANZAC Day is one of the most important days on the calendar because it allows us to pause and reflect on the sacrifices of our service men and women. I want to thank the Principal of Lugarno Public School, Justine Williams, her excellent team of staff and all of the students for putting on this fantastic event. In particular, I want to thank the school's leadership team and everyone who spoke at the ceremony. I look forward to attending this event again in 2022.
