Oatley Lions Club

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)

—I recognise the Oatley Lions Club who have held their inaugural Community Market Day this year to reconnect the community after the difficult past eighteen months that we have endured. It was an honour to help officially open the event which hosted more than 20 stalls selling cakes, plants, books and much, much more. In total, almost $6000 was raised and this money will go directly in to the community through projects run by the Oatley Lions Club. It was fantastic to see so many local organisations coming together to mark the occasion. I want to particularly thank the Oatley Uniting Church for sharing their facilities as well as the Riverwood Air League and the Oatley Heritage and Historical Society for their assistance and support. Community spirit is stronger than ever across the St George region and this is thanks to groups like the Oatley Lions Club. Thank you to President John Morgan, Secretary John Perkins, Market Day Coordinator Richard Sheahan, Trash and Treasure Organiser Liane Simpson, and the entire team for putting this event together.
