Oatley Flora and Fauna Conservation Society

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)

—Speaker, I rise to thank the Oatley Flora and Fauna Conservation Society for their continued environmental advocacy and commitment to improving our local public spaces across the St George area. Earlier this year, I had the privilege of partnering with the organisation to assist in planting 150 trees across three local reserves as part of their Creating Canopies Project. The three local reserves include Peakhurst Park, Henry Lawson Drive Reserve and Pearce Avenue Reserve. These plantings will help create pockets of shade in our local public spaces while also improving biodiversity and the habitats of native animals. I also want to thank the Greater Sydney Landcare Network and Georges River Council for partnering with the Oatley Flora and Fauna Conservation Society to achieve these incredible results. I am also pleased to see that the organisation has planted 600 native trees at Moore Reserve in Hurstville Grove to further their local environmental protection efforts. Well done to President, Kim Wagstaff and the entire team for your ongoing devotion to preserving and nurtuting our local environment.
