—Speaker, last year I had the privilege of acknowledging an outstanding local individual, Dorothy Dixon from the Rotary Club of Hurstville, who is a dear friend of myself, my wife Adla and both of my sons. Dorothy was the first female President of the organisation and she has also been a volunteer with the Salvation Army for over 30 years. To this day, she still regularly volunteers at the Rotary Club's bookshop in Oatley. The 'Mulga Road Bookshop' is run by members of the Rotary Club and it is a charity that has been running since 2011. I sincerely thank Dorothy for everything that she has done to make the bookshop as successful as it is today. Last year I had the honour of presenting Dorothy with a Senior Volunteer Achievement Award as part of the 10th Anniversary of the St George Community Awards. These awards recognise some of the many wonderful individuals and groups from across the region who go above and beyond to make our community even better. Well done Dorothy.
