Poulton Park Opening

Mr MARK COURE (Oatley)

—Poulton Park in Connells Point is now the envy of all other sporting fields in Sydney. Poulton Park is used predominately by the Connells Point Rovers Football Club and it houses a full size field and a training pitch which both utilise a synthetic surface for improved performance in all weather conditions. I would like to thank President Stephen Matthews and Georges River Council, particularly their Mayor Kevin Greene for their advocacy and support right from the start of the project. It used to be disheartening to hear from Stephen that players were moving to other clubs to play on a better surface and that a number of injuries were caused due to poor ground quality. These concerns were waived when the facilities opened for matches last year and it was rewarding to see kids enjoying the premier field. After speaking with Stephen it is promising to note that their players are returning and new talent is already scouting out the club. Well done to everyone involved in this outstanding project.
