Premier visits Hurstville Grove Infants School

Member for Oatley Mark Coure MP today welcomed Premier Gladys Berejiklian to the local area to visit Hurstville Grove Infants School, where they were introduced to the school leaders and given a tour of some of the school’s interactive learning spaces.

The school recently received funding of $19,500 from the NSW Government to replace the soft fall surface underneath the playground equipment. Hurstville Grove Infants School was also successful in obtaining $11,000 to upgrade their library, which is now equipped with new chairs, books and reading spaces.

Ms Berejiklian and Mr Coure toured the playground, the recently refurbished library and a number of classrooms where students and teachers were hard at work.

“Hurstville Grove Infants School is one of many excellent local primary schools in the St George area, and is especially known for its expertise in early childhood education,” Mr Coure said.

“Principal Kylie McKinnon and the P&C have done an outstanding job at reinventing the school to make it a more engaging and interactive learning environment appropriate for kindergarten to year two students.

“I have the privilege of frequently attending school presentation assemblies, parents’ breakfasts and P&C meetings at Hurstville Grove Infants, and it is evident that the school is made up of a tightknit community of families.”

Director of Public Schools NSW Georges River Network, Anne Ross was also in attendance for the school tour.
