NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR 2026 ST GEORGE COMMUNITY AWARDS

Member for Oatley, Mark Coure MP, has officially opened nominations for the 16th Annual St George Community Awards, recognising the outstanding contributions of individuals, community groups and local businesses across the St George community.

“This year marks the 16th year of the Awards, recognising the remarkable contributions and achievements of people who make a difference across our community. I encourage everyone to consider nominating a local hero who deserves recognition,” Mr Coure said.

“These awards are all about the people and groups in our community who work quietly behind the scenes, dedicating their time, energy and talents to help others.”

Mr Coure emphasised that volunteering is one of the strongest pillars of the St George community.

“Volunteers give their time, energy and skills to make our community a better place. The Awards provide an opportunity to say thank you and recognise the incredible contribution they make every day.”

The Awards feature a wide range of categories, so that people from every area of community life are recognised, from sport and education, to cultural activities and emergency services.

“I’m proud to say that over the past 16 years, we have presented more than 1,000 St George Community Awards to deserving individuals, businesses and community groups.”

Nominations can be submitted online at https://markcoure.com.au/st-george-community-awards-nomination or by obtaining a paper form, available by visiting Mr Coure’s Office at 24 Pitt St, Mortdale.

Nominations will close at 5pm on Wednesday, 30 September 2026.

An official award ceremony will be held in late October, with recipients and their families invited to attend.
