More nurses for St George Hospital

Oatley MP Mark Coure recently welcomed over 80 new nurses to St George Hospital, following the announcement of 2000 new nurses that are to start working in NSW public hospitals this year by Health Minister, Jillian Skinner.

"We now have 46,700 nurses and midwives working in NSW public hospitals" said Mr Coure.

"This is an excellent result for healthcare in our local community and I wish all nurses that are starting this year a long and fulfilling career"

"We are indebted as a society to the dedication of nurses and midwives, who are at the very heart of our health system" said Minister Jillian Skinner.

“We rely on their professionalism and their commitment to delivering the highest standards of patient care."

"Prior to coming to government, we promised to provide an additional 2,475 nurses over our first term in government" said Mr Coure.

"Only half way through our first term and we have already exceeded that target, with over 3000 extra nurses and midwives now working in the state's hospitals" concluded Mr Coure.
