what's happening / news / Mark Coure's Biggest Morning Tea to be held at Oatley RSL
Member for Oatley, Mark Coure MP, has encouraged the community to join him in raising funds for cancer research, ahead of his upcoming 14th annual Biggest Morning Tea on 21 May 2025.
This year’s event will take place at 10:30 AM at Oatley RSL and is expected to attract a number of residents, community leaders and local businesses, fundraising for a great cause.
“Our initial fundraising goal was $3000 and we smashed that within the first three weeks,” Mr Coure said.
“We are now hoping to raise just over $5000 and are well on track to making that happen. This funding will go directly to world-class cancer research, prevention programs and support services for families doing it tough.”
To date, Mark Coure’s fundraising campaign has already raised over $24,000 combined.
The funds raised have contributed to:
• SunSmart education for over 1,200 children
• More than 25 calls to Cancer Council's 13 11 20 support line
• Over two weeks of vital cancer research by a PhD student
“Cancer has touched the lives of so many in our community, including my own family, and that is why I am so passionate about being part of this important initiative,” Mr Coure said.
“More than 50,000 Australians lose their lives to cancer each year. These are mothers, fathers, sons and daughters, people we all know and love.
