Member for Oatley Mark Coure has welcomed the unveiling of two design concepts for the future upgrade of Todd Park, saying the project is an important step forward for local sporting clubs and the wider community.
Mr Coure said he was proud to have delivered $250,000 in funding through the NSW Office of Sport Partnership Program in 2022–23 to undertake the detailed design of a new Todd Park Sporting Facility and help get the project started.
“This funding was about turning years of discussion into action and making sure this important project began moving forward,” Mr Coure said.
“Local sporting clubs and user groups have been wanting to see something done at Todd Park as quickly as possible, and I have been working alongside them to help drive this process.”
“Todd Park is a vital community asset, used by local sporting clubs, families and residents, and these new design concepts are an important step towards delivering improved facilities for our growing community.”
Mr Coure said he encouraged residents, sporting groups and park users to take part in the consultation process and help shape the final design.
“Community consultation is critical to getting this right. This is an opportunity to ensure the final design reflects the needs of local users and delivers the modern sporting and community facilities our area deserves,” he said.
Mr Coure said he would continue advocating to see the project progress and for local sporting clubs to finally get upgraded facilities.
“I have long supported improvements at Todd Park, and I will keep fighting to see this project move forward so our local sporting clubs get the modern facilities they have been calling for.”
