what's happening / news / Mark Coure is calling on local residents to donate to Share the Dignity
Share the Dignity is running their bi-annual Dignity Drive across the country to encourage local residents to donate and provide female sanitary items to those in need.
Member for Oatley, Mark Coure, has been actively promoting the work of Share the Dignity for more than five years and is encouraging the St George community to get involved in 2022.
“Since the organisation was founded in 2015, I have been an active supporter of Share the Dignity, because I support their mission statement about the importance of all women having access to female sanitary products,” Mr Coure said.
“To date, the organisation has been able to donate over 3 million female sanitary items and this has gone a long way in supporting women and girls in need.”
“Many women and girls have had difficulty accessing female sanitary items during the pandemic due to financial pressures and it is important that they can all access these essential products.”
“I am calling on local residents to show their support for this important cause and give back to those who need it most.”
Mark Coure’s Electorate Office will be a registered collection point throughout the month of March.
“You can drop into my office at 24 Pitt Street in Mortdale, Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm throughout the month of March to donate your items.”
Accepted donations include brand new sanitary and period products such as tampons, maternity pads, incontinence pads, reusable pads and menstrual cups.
Donations can also be made at your nearest Woolworths store.
