The multi-million dollar upgrade at Penshurst West Public School is now complete, with students and staff already enjoying the new facilities.
Mark Coure, Member for Oatley, said the $8.8 million project has delivered seven new permanent classrooms, to replace existing out dated buildings, as well as one special programs room.
Mr Coure said all that remained was for work on the new carpark to be completed before the building is officially handed to the school community.
“The new building at Penshurst West Public School is just another example of the NSW Government’s commitment to improve school infrastructure across the state,” Mr Coure said.
“The upgrades at the school will help students experience the benefits of flexible learning spaces in a new purpose-built environment.”
“I know that the entire school community has been eagerly waiting to experience the new facilities and I am glad to that see students and teachers are now using them.”
“I look forward to visiting the school soon and seeing the improved facilities in action.”
Sarah Mitchell, Minister for Education and Early Childhood Learning, also welcomed the completion of the new school building, saying the NSW Government was working hard to deliver the school facilities that students and local communities deserve.
The NSW Government is investing $6.7 billion over four years to deliver 190 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. This is the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
