Environmental Education Grants

Mr Mark Coure is encouraging community groups, councils, non-profit and environmental organisations to apply for the NSW government’s next round of Environmental Education grants program.

A total of $1 million in environmental education grants is available under the NSW Environmental Trust program.

“This program invests in educational projects that develop the community’s knowledge, skills and commitment to protecting the environment,” Mr Coure said.

“The Environmental Education Program grants offer funding of between $5,000 and $100,000 each.”

About 50 per cent of the funding is allocated to initiatives led by community organisations and 50 per cent to state and local government led initiatives.

The application process has two stages: first, expressions of interest are lodged and then applicants will be invited to submit full proposals during the second, invitation-only stage.

Over $1 million was awarded to 16 projects aimed at protecting the environment in the last round of grants.

Expressions of interest close on 8 April 2016.
