Coure Pushes For Free Parking at Beverly Hills Commuter Carpark

Member for Oatley, Mark Coure, has called on the NSW Government to introduce free, timed parking at the newly constructed Beverly Hills Commuter Carpark to support local businesses and residents.

While the state-of-the-art facility is a major boost for commuters in the region, Mr Coure says more must be done to ensure it also benefits the wider community.

“The new Beverly Hills Commuter Carpark is a fantastic addition to our area, but it’s critical that locals, particularly those visiting nearby shops and restaurants, can also make use of it,” Mr Coure said.

“In order to support small businesses doing it tough, we need to ensure customers can access convenient, free parking close to the commercial strip.”

Mr Coure has formally written to the Minister requesting free parking on the lower levels of the carpark and three hours of free parking on all levels of the carpark, on both weekdays and weekends.

“I’ve spoken to local business owners and it is clear that they are struggling. It is already difficult to find parking in Beverly Hills on the best of days.”

“These are simple, common-sense measures that will ease the burden on families and help revitalise foot traffic for local businesses. This will support our local economy.”

“I urge the Government to take immediate action to ensure this vital piece of infrastructure benefits the whole Beverly Hills community.”
