2022 NSW Women's Week Grants are now open

Women and girls across NSW will benefit from a range of community, education and mentoring opportunities during the 2022 NSW Women’s Week thanks to a $100,000 grants program from the NSW Government.

Member for Oatley, Mark Coure, encouraged local councils and not-for-profits to apply for a share of the funding to host events between 7 and 13 March 2022.

“Women’s Week is all about recognising, acknowledging and celebrating the diverse range of contributions made not only by local women here in the St George region, but those from throughout the State,” Mr Coure said.

“We are looking for events that not only bring women and girls together in a COVID Safe setting but also provide practical support to help women across the region.”

Events should support at least one of the key priorities of the NSW Women’s Strategy 2018-22, which include: improving women’s financial wellbeing and security, encouraging a holistic approach to health and wellbeing or helping women to build confidence and celebrate their achievements.

“The NSW Women’s Strategy is all about creating more opportunities and promoting the overall health and wellbeing of women throughout the State.”

“It is a whole of Government and community policy framework which is making positive and progressive changes in the lives of women and girls.”

“By incorporating the core principles of this strategy, we are ensuring that Women’s Week will continue to encourage women to reach their full potential whilst providing networking opportunities and increased social engagement.”

Minister for Women, Bronnie Taylor, spoke about the fantastic and ongoing achievements made by women from all walks of life from across NSW.

“Women from all walks of life will be celebrated during NSW Women’s Week including women living in our regional and rural communities, Aboriginal women and women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds,” Minister Taylor added.

Applications for the NSW Women’s Week Grants Program are now open and close on 15 November 2021.
